There's many opportunities and occasions to celebrate in a colorful, creative and giving way this month, showing appreciation to each other, our employees, clients and customers. There are staples like National Employee Appreciation Day on March 4, as well as plenty of holidays you may never have heard of to get creative with in your marketing.
March marketing ideas:
March 8 is National Organize Your Home Office Day. With the number of people working remotely, becoming self-employed, or even just having an office at home for themselves being higher than ever, that means more people are setting up home offices, so this would be a great holiday to integrate into marketing this year.
Since March has both Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, it's the perfect time to gear your newsletter espercially toward the women in your life with special offers, and information relevant to them depending on your industry: women’s health, women in your field, or other news.
March Madness, which even non-basketball fans know about, occurs in March.
Here's something to watch out for:
March is also National Caffeine Awareness Month, and I recently read a marketing piece encouraging businesses to buy promotional coffee mugs because it was a month to celebrate the positive effects of caffeine. The article said that "The Caffeine Awareness Association began the campaign to highlight the stimulant’s positive aspects". This is actually not true at all. The Caffeine Awareness Alliance was formed in 2003 with the mission “to provide objective, evidence-based information and advice to help reduce the health, social, and economic harm associated with caffeine abuse and addiction.”
National Caffeine Awareness Month is held annually to bring attention to the risks associated with caffeinism and caffeine withdrawal syndrome, The Caffeine Awareness Association is a nonprofit whose points about caffeine overuse is what actaully made this month become widely recognized, and caffeine withdrawal syndrom is actually a disorder recognized by the psychiatric community.
